Valter Tucci is a Senior Researcher and head of the Neurobehavioural Genetics group at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (Genoa).
He received his Ph.D in Sleep Medicine in 2004. Before joining the IIT he worked at the Boston University and the MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) and at the MRC Mammalian Genetics Unit in Harwell (UK). His research is mainly focused on studying the epigenetic mechanisms of sleep and circadian clock. During his career he has participated in several EU funded consortia in the field of mouse genetics. In 2013 he served as Editor of the Phil. Trans. R. Soc. B. for the special issue dedicated to the Neurobiology of Timing. In 2008 he received the “Young Investigator” award by the President of Italy.
